Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
A.  Receive head Injuries do to the safety glass window of a crane cab was
unstable they
blocked the window with a piece of paddock 2'large (aprox.), in the back
of the crane
cab, Trademark American, Mod.4460, creating an open space of 2'x
3'(aprox.) over the
operator head (superior and frontal corner of the cab). The crane was
located
in front of
house in construction # K33, and was used to upload up or download
cement bags or cement molds of about 2 Ton.
Among other methods, one feasible and aceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is Put the safety glass in his original position while working
inside the machine.
A. Recibir lesiones serias en la cabeza debido a que la ventana de cristal
estaba inestable
fue sujetada con un pedazo de cuarton de 2'aproximadamente, en la parte
trasera del
techo de la cabina de la grua, marca American, Mod.4460, creando un
espacio abierto
de 2'x 3'aprox. sobre la cabeza del operador,(esquina superior-frontal de
la cabina).  La
grua estaba localizada al frente de la casa en construccion # K-33, y era
usada para subir
y bajar cemento o moldes de hasta 2 toneladas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este
riesgo es
volviendo a colocar el safety glass de la ventana en su sitio, mientras la
grua este en
operaciones.
