Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the establishment, Arcos Dorados (Mc Donald's Guanica #0096). In the
west side of
the warehouse, employees were exposed to receive injuries, due to the
plastic and
cartoon grill boxes, are stored until the roof,closed to an electrical
lamp (2-4 Inch) in the
warehouse area, right and west side.
Hazard: Burns in case of fire.
Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is move the boxes to a safety distance from the electrical lamp (1
feet
approximately).
En el establecimiento, Arcos Dorados, PR, Inc (Mc-Donald Guanica #0096).
En el lado
derecho del almacen, empleados fueron expuestos a recibir lesiones serias,
debido a que
las cajas de plastico y carton, conteniendo envases, fueron estibadas
hasta el techo,
estando pegadas a la lampara electrica.
Riesgo: Quemaduras en caso de fuego.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este
riesgo es alejar
el envase plastico y de carton de las lamparas electricas (1 pie aprox.)
