basket:
a) 126 Water Street, Newton, NJ.
Employees were observed climbing the rails of a scissor lift basket to
access the joist/work
surface, thereby exposing the employees to a fall hazard of 17 feet to the
ground.
Violation observed on or about 10/20/2009.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is:
1 Level the floor of the scissor lift basket with the top of the joist and
then open the door of the
basket and walk out onto the joists with the proper fall protection.
