Waynesville, OH: The employer did not assure sufficient and correctly
installed temporary
bracing was applied to the 54' scissor trusses erected on-site, exposing
employees to being
struck and crushed by metal plate connect wood trusses.
ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of
abatement
are to follow temporary bracing instruction from the manufacturer, or the
temporary bracing
instruction outlined in the 2008 Building Component Safety Information
(BCSI): Guide to
Good Practice for Handling, Installing, Restraining & Bracing of Metal
Plate

In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required
for this violation
