Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of1970: The employer did not furnish employmentand a place of employment wich were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the employees were exposed to the hazards associated with: A safety platform was not provided to lift employees with the Powered Industrial Truck. Personnel on the PIT did not have means to shut off the power to the PIT. At the site: Employer, driving a forklift, hoisted employees on a shop made platform without guardrails or other fall protection, greater than seven feet to paint and to gain access to the roof of the facility to change paint booth filters. Among other methods, other feasible means of abatement would be to use an extension ladder or use a scissor lift.or
