Cooler Warehouse:
On October 22, 2010, the bottom portions of the steel storage rack system
used to store
pallets of cranberries and cranberry products, were damaged in some areas.
Among other methods, one feasible abatement method to correct this hazard
is to:
a) Provide column protectors and/or steel clad impact panels to reduce
damage
from forklift impact;
b) Ensure that damaged racks are replaced or repaired according to
manufacturer's recommendations;
c) Establish regular inspections of rack systems to identify damaged racks;
d) Follow safety practices outlined in the American National Safety
Institute
(ANSI) MH-16.2-1984 standard (or later version) for "Use of Industrial and
Commercial Steel Storage Racks".
