habitation:
a) Temporary migrant labor camp, 384 Landis Road, Stantonsburg, NC - four
workers and a six year old boy
were occupying one two-story, wood-framed barn in which no preparations
were made to accommodate human
habitation.
ABATEMENT NOTICE:
Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abating this violation
is to discontinue the use of this barn
as a dwelling and provide housing that meets the requirements of the
Migrant
Housing Act.ing

that employees were exposed to electrical hazards:
a) Temporary migrant labor camp, 384 Landis Road, Stantonsburg, NC -
fourteen migrant farm workers and a
six year old boy were using  the facilities of one single-story, wood
framed house where the following electrical
hazards existed:
1) A damaged electrical cord running through pinch points in a window, wet
grass, and beneath a
gravel driveway was used to supply electricity to the barn.
2) Live wires were exposed in the bathroom above a leaking water heater in
the main house.
3) Two refrigerators and one microwave were not grounded in the main
house.
4) Live wires, due to a missing smoke detector, were exposed in a bedroom
in the main house.
ABATEMENT NOTICE:
Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abating these
violations is to eliminate all temporary
wiring being used on a permanent basis and to have all corrections made in
accordance with the NEC and local
building code requirements.
