What this inspection record means

OSHA opens inspections for many reasons — routine scheduling under a national or local emphasis program, an employee complaint or referral, or a follow-up after a reported injury. Opening or conducting an inspection is not itself an allegation or a finding that this employer broke any rule; any findings appear as the citations listed below, and citations can be contested, reduced, or withdrawn.

Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to: Tripping Hazard

At the Jesus T. Pinero Remodelation Project, Canovanas PR, it was observed
that Bonn
Construction Corp employees' accessed the material wagon through a ramp
made of plywood
with crossed 2"x4" wood poles. The higher point of the ramp was 51 inches
above the ground.
The distance along the ramp between the foot and the top support was 64
inches and the width
of the ramp was 52 inches. It was documented that the employees walked
into the wagon to
retrieve and store their tools and construction materials. Carrying these
objects limited
employees's visibility to the floor. The two by four (2"x4") wood poles
that had a height of one
and a half inches (1 1/2"), nailed to the ramp's surface represented a
tripping hazard.
Feasible abatement methods to correct this hazard may include, but are not
limited to:
Construct a stairway with risers height and tread depth uniformly.
sea uniforme.
