Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being caught in the rotating parts of a pipe threading machine. (a) Location - 215 Harvard Street, Medford, MA: On or about 08/12/2009, the Rigid pipe machine threading machine was not equipped with a momentary contact device/foot pedal switch as prescribed by the American National Standards Institute, ANSI B208.1 - 1982 Section 4.4. A feasible means of abatement would be to provide a properly guarded momentary contact device/foot pedal control switch as required by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B208.1 .208.1
