Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an amputation hazard: a.Employees who operate the alligator shear were not trained on the hazards of operation and the safety procedures required to prevent injury as required in the manufacturer's operator manual. Feasible and acceptable methods of abatement to correct the hazard include, but are not limited to the following: (1)Provide the JMC model 407i alligator shear machine operator manual for the affected employees to read. (2)Provide operator training specific to the JMC model 407i alligator shear machine. (3)Obtain operator and safety training videos specific to the JMC model 407i alligator shear machine. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE REQUIRED.TION
