Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:10/28/09 Location:Receiving Area Condition:A plumbed emergency eyewash was blocked and invisible from the use of the employees who were exposed to GLANCE SC (Super Concentrate). Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods of abatement to correct these hazards include visible markings, and the path of travel from the hazard to the eyewash must be free of obstructions. The proposed penalty for this item has been reduced by 50for effective and efficient abatement during the inspection.
