Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or about 02/24/10 Location:Forklift Charging Station/Warehouse Condition:First Aid eye wash solution bottles provided where employees had potential exposure to sulfuric acid, from adding water to electric pallet jack and forklift batteries, were not capable of providing 15 minutes of continuous flushing water in the event of an emergency. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement to correct this hazard is to comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment."
