Equipment:Donaldson-Torit Dust Collector, Model: #8-AN, Serial:
#16622288-002
Condition:Employees were exposed to potential dust explosions and fire
hazards from the ignition
of wood dust in the cyclone collector that was operating at 4,260 cubic
feet per minute
and which recycled the exhaust air inside the building.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would
be to comply with guidelines
outlined in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 664 Standard
for the Prevention of Fires and
Explosions in Wood Processing and Woodworking Facilities.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training certification, etc.)
is required for this item.

Condition:An employee was potentially exposed to sulfuric acid when adding
water
to forklift batteries, and the Haw's Portable Gravity Fed eyewash station
was empty.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement to correct this
hazard is to comply
with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency
Eye Wash and
Shower Equipment."

training
certification, etc.) is required for this item.
