Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the condition(s) listed below: AB Walker #1: On or about June 8, 2010, employees were exposed to fire and hazardous chemical exposure due to not having the hydrogen sulfide monitoring system ON while conducting well servicing operations. The hydrogen sulfide monitor was not connected to the battery and did not have power. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow American Petroleum Institute (API) RP 49. DISCLAIMER: 1) You are not limited to the abatement method(s) suggested above. 2) The employer is responsible for selecting and carrying out an appropriate method.
