CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS:
Install the auxiliary escape line route prior to any drilling operations.
The employer should use
a specially rigged and securely anchored escape line attached to the
derrick mast so as to provide
a ready and convenient means of escape for the derrickman's working
platform as referenced
in paragraph 6.10.1 of API RP 54, Recommended Practice for Occupational
Safety for Oil and
Gas Well Drilling and Servicing Operations, 1999 edition.
29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the
above violation is
completed.
