29 CFR 1910.120(g)(3)(iii): Positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus or positive pressure air-line respirators equipped with an escape air supply were not used when the chemical exposure levels present created a substantial possibility of impairment of the ability to escape: Board operators were exposed to inhalation hazards such as carbon dioxide, ammonia, and etc. in that an emergency escape air supply was not provided with the supplied air system used in the control room. The supplied air system in the control room has approximately 2.9 hours of breathable air and after the supplied air has depleted, no emergency escape air supply was available for board operators that were required to stay in the control room. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(2) abatement of the above violation was verified at the time of inspection. No certification is required.
