Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of contact with a running blade: a.Site - The Husqvarna K960 Cutoff Saw was started on the ground above the excavation, then passed down to a second worker within the excavation while it was running. The second worker dropped the saw during the transfer and suffered severe lacerations. AABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to follow the manufacturer's written instructions for the machine.ions
