P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of being struck by falling or shifting load: A) By storage building, on or about October 5, 2010, a metal beam rail installed to support two Harrington electrical overhead hoists that were used to lift boats of various sizes and weight was not tested or rated as a unit, exposing employees to a hazard of being struck by a falling or swing load. One feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to inspect and test the metal beam rail in accordance with ANSI B30.11 - 1993, Monorail Systems and under hung cranes, Section 11-2.2, Testing; ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.TION

One feasible and acceptable abatement method is to have seat belts installed on forklift. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.TION

One feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to install proper guardrails on all open sides of the platform. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.TION
