Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by an unintentional falling load: (a) Facility, 105 Crane Bay: On or about April 6, 2010, the C hook that was used on the #103, Shaw-Box overhead crane was not marked with the rated load capacity; the manufacturer's name and address; the serial number; the lifter weight; the design category; and the service class. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to comply with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME B30.20, "Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices", Section 20-1.2.1.
