Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Heath Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards which were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall and struck by hazard: a) Benigna's Creek Winery, Klingerstown, PA: The temporary bracing of the long span piggy back wooden trusses was inadequate resulting in the collapse of a portion of the truss system. This resulted in the fatal injury of an employee who fell during the truss collapse, on or about July 9, 2010. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO COMPLY WITH BCSI-B1 "GUIDE FOR HANDLING, INSTALLING, RESTRAINING AND BRACING OF TRUSSES". ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
