Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a concrete caisson lifted over the employees head. a) East Stroudsburg / Construction Area - Employees were working under a concrete caisson while elevated into the air by a Case CX160 excavator, observed on or about 02/23/11. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among others, one feasible and acceptable method to abate this hazard is to follow the manufactures safety instruction and not lift equipment over people. ABATEMENT OBSERVED DURING INSPECTION NO CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
