Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to a stuck-by hazard when the employer failed to secure a
Nitrogen compressed
gas cylinder.(Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1 1965, Sec. 3.4.4)
On or about February 15, 2011, at 2121 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, in
Suwanee, GA,
employees were exposed to struck-by hazard when the employer failed to
secure a Nitrogen
compressed gas cylinder to ensure that it could not be knocked over.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD TO CORRECT THESE HAZARDS IS:
The employer shall secure the Nitrogen compressed gas cylinder in such a
means as to prevent
the compressed gas cylinder from being knocked over by employees or
equipment.
In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required
for this violation
