Violation: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical
harm to employees in that an employees were
exposed  to burns associated with working around a unguarded hot pipe
surface connected to the gasifier heat unit
that when during operation that reaches 600 degrees F.
This hazard was reasonably foreseeable because all the factors that can
cause a burn are present when the gasifier
heat unit is activated. The gasifier heat unit generates heat and moves
hot materials through the pipe system of the
gasifier heat unit. The pipe temperature can reach 600 degrees F that  can
be a normal function and temperature
of the heat gasifier unit.
The hazard may be corrected by a feasible an useful method. This hot pipe
was exposed to employees in the demo
room when the gas heat unit is operating. The hot pipe exposed employees
to burns and there is a useful feasible
method that exists to eliminate this hazard is but not limited to
providing a guard to cover the hot pipe and eliminate
any exposure or potential contact with the hot surface.
