Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls: a) Shechtman Expert Tree Care - The employer did not provide adequate training to employees on the proper use of a personal fall arrest system and proper safety requirements for arboricultural operations. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to: 1) Ensure by observing and providing training and instructing employees to wear and utilize the personal protective equipment, including properly tying off and properly securing anchorage points. 2) Train the employees on ANSI Z133.1-2006 Safety requirements for arboricultural operations. NOTE: DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS CONDITION IS REQUIRED.
