Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an uncontrolled release of anhydrous ammonia: a) Mrs. Ressler's Food Products Co. - Adjacent to the compressor or gas mixing room employees were operating the ovens and were exposed to a release of anhydrous 20 feet of the ammonia refrigeration vessels in the compressor/mixing room. This shall be in accordance with ANSI/IIAR 2-1999 Section 13.1.1.6 of the standard. 3.The employer did not have the voids/holes in the walls of the compressor/mixing room tightly sealed. These voids were from pipes which had previously penetrated the wall. This shall be in accordance with ANSI/IIAR 2-1999 Section 13.3.1.9 of the standard. NOTE: DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THESE CONDITIONS IS REQUIRED.
