Section 5(a)(1) )f the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employeesin that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck and run over by vehicles: a) Employee was working as a traffic line painter in the 100 Block of Spring Garden Street, exposed to vehicular traffic without wearing High Viability Vest while performing their tasks. Observed on or about 05/15/11. Abatement Statement: One method of abatement would be to follow Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and follow Section 6D.03. NOTE: DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
