connected to a 6250 gallon capacity tanker trailer that was not provided
with a
connection for the trailer's air brakes, on or about March 20 2010.
ABATEMENT NOTE:
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to
equip the tractor / trailer combination with brakes in accordance with the
requirements
set forth in SAE J702 (Brake and electrical connection location - truck -
tractor and truck
- trailer), SAE J318 (Automotive air brake line couplers), SAE J1609 (Air
Reservoir
Capacity Guide - trucks and busses), SAE J2580 (Identification and
installation of air
brake system components)
