On or about 05/21/2010, on a job site located on 1220 16th Street, Miami
Beach, FL, an
employee was exposed to a fall hazard as he worked from the top step of a
4-foot portable step
ladder to perform electrical work.
Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to
correct the hazard
is to prohibit employees from standing on the top step of a portable
ladder to perform their job
and to follow the manufacturer's restrictions of not standing on the top
step.
