General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to slip, trip and fall hazards: On or about 12/10/2010, the employer did not ensure employees were provided sufficient lighting in the employee's parking lot. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to follow the ANSI/EIS RP-7 standards regarding sufficient lighting and to conduct periodic inspections of the parking areas to include light poles to ensure sufficient illumination is provided to the employees.
