Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling: On or about 01/13/2011, at 10300 NW 11th Manor, Coral Springs, FL one employee was using a fiberglass 16 feet extension ladder on a slippery (wet) surface. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to require employees to thoroughly dry the bottom of a waste water tank with pumps or absorbent methods to remove water from the bottom surface of the tank before placing a ladder on the surface. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
