Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 1/28/2011, an employee was pinned underneath a trailer's tongue while attempting to stabilize the trailer on soft ground. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard was to follow the manufacturer's recommendation prohibiting personnel from being under the trailer before or during the uncoupling operations. NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
