Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the struck by hazard caused by collapsing industrial storage racks: On or about October 27, 2010, the employer did not ensure industrial storage racks were anchored to the floor and damaged racks were repaired or replaced. Employees were exposed to being struck by the collapsing racks. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to adhere to the Rack Manufacturers Institute specifications for anchoring storage racks and repair and/or replace racks with damaged components.ons
