furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were

On October 20, 2010 at the AEE Mechanic Workshop, Fajardo PR, inside the
Tools Room,
where employees collected tools and equipment among other things, it was
observed
that the
materials were stored on a metal shelf (36"x18"x75") with visible damage
that compromised its
integrity.  A rocking motion was observed due to the inlcination of the
shelf and heavy material
placed on the top.
Among other methods, one feasible method to reduce this hazard is replace
damaged shelf, or
stack materials only in the lower level of the shelf.
El 20 de octubre de 2010 en el taller de macanica de AEE, Fajardo PR, en
el cuarto de
herramientas donde los empleados recogian herramientas y equipo entre
otras cosas, se observo
material almacenado en un estante de metal (36"x18"x75") que estaba con
danos visibles que
comprometia su integridad.  Se observo que debido a la inclinacion del
estante y a materiales
pesados colocados en la parte mas alta, este se movia facilmente.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo viable para reducir este riesgo es
remplazar este estante de
almacenaje danado o acomodar materiales solamente en el nivel mas bajo del
estante.
