Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck-by: a. On or about 03/10/10 - shop area, the Duro automobile lift was being used by the mechanics with a leaking hydraulic seal. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the safety requirements in ANSI/ALI B153.1-1990 Section 7.1.1-7.3 and E7 for maintenance, use, and inspection for the automobile lifts.
