North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards and were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm by being struck-by or crushed by hydraulic vehicle lifts: a)establishment, the Titan Powerlift (9000 lbs) were not being conducted inspection or maintenance records by the employer showing that inspection recommended by the manufacturer to ensure the safe operations of the lift. b)establishment, the Rotary lift (24,000 lbs) were not being conducted inspection or maintenance records by the employer showing that inspection recommended by the manufacturer to ensure the safe operations of the lift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to establish monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections of the both lifts to met the manufacturer's requirements for inspections for the safe operation of the lift. (Reference: ANSI B135.1 & ANSI/ALCTV-1998).
