Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to the employees in that employees were exposed to impalement hazards by falling onto form pins that were approximately 1 ft above the ground. a) On or about 5/25/11 and at times prior thereto employee(s) were exposed to an impalement hazard from forming pins that were protruding approximately 1 ft. out of the ground, while constructing a sidewalk. AMONG OTHER METHODS, FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD ARE TO: INSTALL CAPS ON THE PINS TO PREVENT AN IMPALEMENT. ANOTHER METHOD, FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD IS TO INSTALL FORM PINS LEVEL TO THE GROUND.
