Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck-by unrestrained water valves: (a) Construction Site; On July 15, 2010 an employee was injured after he was struck by an approximately 400 pound, 8 inch water valve that was not effectively restrained during the pressurized testing phase of the construction of the new water service. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
