yyyyyyyySection 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer
did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized
hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical
harm to employees in
that employees were exposed to burns and potential respiratory damage.
On or about February 15, 2010 and at times prior thereto employees were
exposed to the
hazards of fire, explosion and potential respiratory irritation in that, a
propane gas leak
occurred when an uncapped gas outlet was accidentally turned on.
One feasible and acceptable method to abate this hazard is to follow NPFA
54 3.8.2 which
requires the use of a threaded gas tight sealant and cap on the open end
of unused propane
gas outlets.
Abatement Note:  Abatement certification and documentation is required for
this item.
