Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the condition(s) listed below: This violation on or about 08/19/2010 at Rig #24,Weatherby Lease B-10, Big Lake, TX. where employees were exposed to struck by hazards due to the hose, under high pressure, not being secured in such a way as to restrict movement of the hose in the event of a rupture. Among other feasible methods to correct the identified hazard, one method would be to secure high pressure hoses in accordance with American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice (API-RP) 54 para.6.3.2 which states " Well operations involving the rig shall not be commenced until the rig is rigged up in a safe manner".
