Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck-by material falling from the conveyor belt: (a)On or about 05/07/2010 - at the production area, employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck-by 2 liter liquid-filled plastic containers falling from overhead conveyors 15-feet above the work area. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to provide spill guards for the overhead conveyors, as stated in ASME B20.1- 2009 - Safety Standard for Conveyors and Related Equipment, Section 5.9.2(d) Guarding by Location or Position.
