North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an explosion hazard: a)Roberts Science Hall, Photovoltaic Nanotechnology lab, room number 114, where the employer improperly stored incompatible chemicals in a Trojan Metal Products flammable liquid storage cabinet (Model No. 49) creating the potential for an explosion. Abatement Notes: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to segregate chemicals into hazard classes using chemical storage cabinets approved and labeled for its contents, such as but not limited to, acids/corrosives, or flammables.
