allowed an employee
to be transported from one area of the job site on a busy street
approximately 3 city blocks down
the street to another job site by riding on the side step of a Caterpillar
430 E backhoe tractor.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method would be
to comply with
the Association of Equipment Manufacturers Safety Manual for Operators and
Mechanics of
Hydraulic Backhoe/Loaders which states "WARNING: Your Backhoe/Loader is a
ONE-
PERSON machine. NEVER PERMIT RIDERS."
