Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to potential fire and explosion hazards: In the following locations, dust collectors that were not designed and installed for use with combustible dust were located inside of the building: A.Hamburger Roll Line: 1.Torit dust collector located at divider station. 2.Tenkay dust collector. B.English Muffin Line: Murphy-Rogers dust collector. Among other methods, one feasible and useful method to correct this hazard is to either locate the dust collection equipment outside of the building or install dust collectors that comply with generally recognized guidelines such as, but not limited to those contained in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 61 Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities.
