Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to the fall hazards: Worksite 21 Oak Street, Hartford, CT 06106: The employer provided employees with defective seatboard that were used as a part of a descent system in a window washing operation. A. One of the seatboard bottom strap was detached from the chair. B. Another seatboard corner was broken and the supporting metal rod was exposed. C. The other two seatboard had worn and broken edges. D. The thickness of the seatboards were 3/4" and did conform with ANCI / IWCAI-14.1-2001 with defective seatboard that were used as a part of a descent system in a window washing operation. A. One of the seatboard bottom strap was detached from the chair. B. Another seatboard corner was broken and the supporting metal rod was exposed. C. The other two seatboard had worn and broken edges. D. The thickness of the seatboards were 3/4" and did conform with ANCI / IWCAI-14.1-2001 Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with the American Standard?International Window Cleaning Association Standards IWCA I-14.1-2001 Window Cleaning Safety. Specific abatement documentation is required.tion
