Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a palce of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likeley to cause death or serious physical harm for employees: (a)Date oF Violation:On or About 10/05/10 Location:Main Work Room Equipment:Caterpillar Forklift, Type LP, Model #GF 25K, Serial #AT 17C00099 Condition:A liquid propane powered forklift was not equipped with a seatbelt. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install and utilize a restraint system in accordance with the current version of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B56.1, "Safety Standard for Powered Industrial Trucks," and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASNME) B56.1-2000, "Safety Satndard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks."
