Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an amputation hazard: (a) An employee was exposed to a table saw that did not have an anti-restart at 4440 Airport Road in Rapid City, South Dakota. (b) An employee was exposed to a table saw that did not have a spreader at 4440 Airport Road in Rapid City, South Dakota. (c) An employee was exposed to a table saw that did not have an anti-kickback device at 4440 Airport Road in Rapid City, South Dakota. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to follow the American National Standards Institute ANSI O1.1 American National Standard for Woodworking Machinery-Safety Requirements, sections 4.3.5, 5.4.2.1.4, and 6.1.2(8).
