Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by. (a) Location - 306 Powdermill Road, Concord, MA: On or about 05/14/2010, an employee on the ground was injured when a cut section of tree had fallen onto his head. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means to abate this hazard is to ensure communication is established between the employees on the ground and the employees cutting the tree in accordance with ANSI Z133.1-2006, section 8.2 for "Arboricultural Operations, Pruning, Repairing, Maintaining, and Removing Trees and Cutting Brush Safety Requirements.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to delay of emergency medical services arrival. (a) Location - 306 Powdermill Road, Concord, MA: On or about 05/14/2010, an employee was injured at a jobsite and the foreman was unaware of his location when he phoned for first responders to assist the accident victim who sustained serious head injury. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means to abate this hazard is to establish emergency procedures in accordance with ANSI Z133.1-2006, section 3.3 for "Arboricultural Operations, Pruning, Repairing, Maintaining, and Removing Trees and Cutting Brush Safety Requirements.
