Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Carroll County Courthouse - The employer did not install the cable guardrail system Crosby clamps per the manufacturer's specification, thereby, exposing employees to fall hazards of up to 50 feet throughout the construction site. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED Among other feasible means of abatement to correct the hazardous condition may include to ensure through training that employees installing the guard rail system are knowledgeable of the requirements and manufacturer's specifications prior to installation.
