Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an impalement hazard: (a) Employees were exposed to an impalement hazard while working around vertical electrical conduits that were not protected or covered. The conduits projected approximately 10 inches above the floor level. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to cover the conduits with lumber. The citation is issued to Walbridge as the "Controlling" employer under OSHA's multi-employer worksite policy (CPL 2-0.124). ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION NOT REQUIREDATION
