Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment
which were free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to
employees in that employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards
(a) Location Trion GA - On or about October 24, 2011, employees were
exposed to
electrical hazards when working near energized and uninsulated overhead
power lines
while performing tree cutting operations .
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazard
is: 1) Ensure
that employees are trained in and follow an ANSI Z133.1 Electrical Hazard
Awareness
Program (EHAP) and, 2)  Instruct employees to maintain a  minimum approach
distance
of at least 10 feet (reference Table 1 ANZI Z133.1) when working near
energized
electrical conductors.
